Corporate Social Resposibility

Corporate Social Responsibility

Corporate Social Responsibility is type of International private business self regulation. Different Organizations have framed different definitions of CSR although there is considerable common ground between them. At Ziran India we framed our own definition for CSR as it is about how our company manages the business processes to produce an overall positive impact on society. We at Ziran India carry our Corporate Social Responsibility by continuing commitment by business to behave ethically and contribute to economic development while improving the quality of life of the workforce and their families as well as of the local community and society at large.

Under CSR our company integrate various social and environmental concerns in our business operations and interactions with our stakeholders. We routed the way through which our company achieves a balance of economic, environmental and social imperative.

As a proof of our awareness about corporate social responsibility we have introduced six types of corporate social initiatives.

  • Corporate philanthropy : company donates to charity, including cash, goods, and services, sometimes via a corporate foundation
  • Community volunteering: company organizes volunteer activities, sometimes while an employee receives pay for pro-bono work on behalf of a non-profit organization
  • Socially-responsible business practices: company ethically produces products which appeal to a customer segment
  • Cause promotions: company provides funds for advocacy campaigns
  • Cause-related marketing: we donates to charity based on product sales
  • Corporate social marketing: company provides funds for behavior-change campaigns

All six of the corporate initiatives are forms of corporate citizenship. However, only some of these CSR activities rise to the level of cause marketing, defined as “a type of corporate social responsibility (CSR) in which our company’s promotional campaign has the dual purpose of increasing profitability while bettering society.

Company generally do not have a profit motive when participating in corporate philanthropy and community volunteering. On the other hand, the remaining corporate social initiatives can be examples of cause marketing, in which there is both a societal interest and profit motive.

Our common CSR actions include:

Environmental sustainability: recycling, waste management, water management, renewable energy, reusable materials, ‘greener’ supply chains, reducing paper use and adopting leadership in energy and environmental design (LEED) building standards.
Community involvement: This includes raising money for local charities, providing volunteers, sponsoring local events, employing local workers, supporting local economic growth, engaging in fair trade practices, etc.
Ethical marketing : Our company ethically market to consumers is placing a higher value on our customers and respecting them as people who are ends in themselves. We do not try to manipulate or falsely advertise to potential consumers. This is important for our company that want to be viewed as ethical.

With resolving major CSR issues, proper implementation of CSR concept can bring along a variety of competitive advantages for us, such as enhanced access to capital and markets, increased sales and profits, operational cost savings, improved productivity and quality, efficient human resource base, improved brand image and reputation, enhanced customer loyalty, better decision making and risk management processes.
